The original Rocket Engine was built in 1829 by George Stephenson. The Rocket Engine eventually proved that steam locomotion would work for the railways. This delightful replica of the famous Rocket Engine features the yellow locomotive with its large wheels and smokestack, and a coal car. Compatible with most wooden railway systems on the market. Each train in the Bigjigs Heritage Collection is beautifully made and features bespoke packaging which includes details of the engine's history, where the engine is located now, and also an image of the original locomotive upon which the replica is based. The Rocket Engine measures 5-3/4" and is suitable for use by children ages 3 - 8 years.
