We thought he would be a distinctively-sounding bridge pickup for high gain amplifiers, but we soon discovered that he is also a radically neat neck pickup. The tone is deep and warm, but not mushy. It is hot but not distorted. It even has cool overtones, which is really unusual for a neck humbucker.
